Emily M. Cohen – Partner
Emily Cohen practices exclusively in the area of Immigration and Nationality Law. She has been a practicing attorney since 1989. Emily Cohen’s practice includes a full spectrum of business and individual immigration clients including multinational corporations, information technology companies, healthcare institutions and academic and research organizations.
Early in her career as a private practitioner, Emily Cohen established the Immigration Law Center in Philadelphia. The Center serves as a resource to the community on immigration matters. Emily Cohen has written and lectured extensively on immigration at both the university level and for corporate clients who continue to seek information on the growing implication immigration has on their business and human resource needs. She is a leading immigration lawyer in Philadelphia and consults locally, nationally and abroad as well.
Prior to completing law school in 1988, Emily Cohen served as a Foreign Student Advisor at Temple University in Philadelphia and was a Legal Assistant at the Immigration Law Firm of Orlow, Rubin, Steel and Rudnick. She also served as an Immigration Caseworker at the Nationalities Service Center in Philadelphia and in 1982 was accredited by the Board of Immigration Appeals to represent individuals before the Immigration and Naturalization Service. In 1992, she and Charles M. Honeyman, Esq., who has since been appointed a U.S. Immigration Judge, formed Cohen & Honeyman, a full service immigration practice. Subsequently, she joined her practice with Fluhr & González, P .C. where she now leads The Immigration Law Center of Cohen, Fluhr, González, P.C.
